Nokia N81 and Sony Ericsson W910i, Music Stand Off!

Here, we chck out two top music phones, the Nokia N81 and Sony Ericsson W910i.

Nokia has launched one of the latest N- Series mobile phones called the Nokia N81. The phone is equipped with a highly intuitive slider opening mechanism featuring a 2.4 inch 16 million colour QVGA screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone houses a built-in 2 megapixel camera with flash and 20 x digital zoom. The integrate music player supports a variety of formats like MP3 (VBR), WAV, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, M4A and WMA. Integrated FM radio, visual radio, 5 bang equalizer, music streaming (UpnP), Bluetooth Stereo A2DP, Nokia podcasting, voice recorder, talking ringtones, speaker independent name dialling (SIND), push-to-talk, handsfree speaker, WLAN, 3G, Bluetooth, USB, EDGE, Quad Band support, Nokia Browser with Mini Map etc. complete the feature list of the phone.

Moving on... built wise, the Sony Ericsson W910i looks pretty much same as another new model of a different series – the Sony Ericsson S500i. However, the latter is primarily a fashion solution and features diminished capabilities – both music and otherwise, when compared to this latest addition to the Walkman series. Being a music solution, media playback capabilities of the Sony Ericsson W910i are immense. Powered by the latest Walkman media player v3.0, the device produces the best of sounds by current standards.

All premium Walkman features like TrackID, TrueBass, Graphic Equalizer, and the fabulous Shake Control, finds their respective places. The handset's internal memory pool is mere 12 Mb which is far from sufficient for a music solution. The company therefore are shipping a 512 Mb external memory card free with a standard kit. Sound output could be through standard pair of headset supplied with the phone, wireless stereo Bluetooth headsets or even on the built in speakers.
