Older (used) models you may like and that do support almost all lenses in the entire Nikon palette are the D100, D70s, perhaps D50. Less megapixels but excellent quality nevertheless. Do shop around as prices for a well-maintained body vary wildly. At Ebay, for example, you see totally crazy prices as well as sometimes reasonable prices. I got one for less than 300 bucks in good condition. The relatively new semi-pro D200 is expected to see a price drop now that the pro-models D300 and D3 are out. Alternatively, you may want to hunt around for a used D200 body. You will love the stunning results this camera is capable of, even with "old" and non-AF lenses. The D100 in the hands of a experienced amateur or pro is, although a much older design, also capable of top results.
